What is Vinyl?

Vinyl fences are plastic, made specifically with polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This material is combined with special ingredients that make it strong, durable, and resistant to various types of weather and ultraviolet rays.

The DFS Vinyl Products we carry, contain 100% virgin vinyl with a minimum of 10 parts per 100 of Dupont, non-chalking TiO2 (Titanium Dioxide) ultraviolet inhibitors. They are 100% lead-free and meet ASTM Certifications. Materials: Necessary Additives UV Inhibitors, Impact Modifiers, Non-Chalking Titanium Dioxide (Min.10 Parts/100).

Will My Fence Fade?

DFS Colour Lock™ is a DFS exclusive formula that provides your fence with the best fade protection available. Using the highest grade of acrylic formula and additives the bar has been set higher than ever before in fade protection. DFS does not offer the industry standard “PVC colour” in any profile. Colour Lock™ technology protects the colour and sheen of your PVC fence for much longer than the industry standard (PVC colour). There is no better protection currently available and DFS backs our products with a great warranty. DFS is a Canadian company that understands the importance of withstanding the harsh elements and temperature swings. Many claim to make a quality PVC coloured product, but you should demand the best. Make the right choice and purchase a Colour Lock™ fence and not just a standard PVC colour. You want your customers’ fence to look great for years to come and not fall victim to premature fading and chalking, or an inevitable “call back” or warranty claim.

What do You Specialize in?

We specialize in no dig fencing products, including vinyl, ornamental, and sound barrier fencing.  All products are installed using a hydraulic post driver to install 2 3/8" galvanized steel posts, to a minimum of 4' into the ground. This is the most superior method of installation and offers the highest possible wind load rating, ensuring your fence will withstand the harshest Saskatchewan winds. The finishing materials are then fastened to the steel posts, using specialized collars and fasteners.

What Type of Warranty Do You Provide on Vinyl Products?

DFS Vinyl Products Limited Lifetime Warranty Non-Prorated and Transferable warrants to the registered homeowner/consumer that its DFS Vinyl Products will be free from manufacturing defects – including peeling, flaking, blistering and corroding – when subject to normal and proper use. Products must be properly maintained by the homeowner/consumer. Should any such defect occur during the lifetime of the registered purchaser (and as long as the registered purchaser is still living and retains ownership of the property), DFS Vinyl Products will repair or replace, at its option, the defective fencing product. DFS Vinyl Products also reserves the right to refund the amount paid by the original owner for the fencing product.

What Type of Warranty Do You Provide on Malden Metals Ornamental Products?

MALDEN METALS WARRANTY TERMS: The surface on all Malden Metals ornamental panels and posts are warranted under normal and intended usage, against cracking, peeling, chipping, blistering, or corroding commencing with the original purchase date. Normal and intended usage does not include physical damage, abrasion, or heavy salt spray exposure to the protective coating. To qualify for a warranty the original owner must register their fence on the Malden Metals website or mail in the warranty registration document. This registration must be completed within 30 days of the fence installation. A warranty registration certificate will be sent out and must be kept in such case a claim is made in the future.

Note: Regardless of the details noted above, excessive salt spray exposure shall be considered as grounds to void any warranty obligations. Exemptions: If original powder coated finish is re-coated, sandblasted or in any other way modified this warranty is invalid. Damage during installation, transport or unloading is not covered, as is any other damage caused by external objects impacting or scratching the powder coated surface. Damage due to severe weather or natural disasters such as storms, earthquakes, fires, and floods are not covered by this warranty. Powder coated materials that are installed within a distance of 1 km from any area that may pose an increased risk of corrosion or damage to the powder coat finish, such as marine, coast or industrial areas are not covered by this warranty - if installation are within 1 to 3 km of any of these areas warranty will be 2 years. Damage to the product caused by use of landscape, gardening equipment, chemicals, and/or water sprinklers with high mineral content. Damage caused by adhesion of chicken wire, chain link mesh, welded wire, or other similar substance to the product. Damage caused by allowing plant life of any sort to grow directly upon or in contact with any portion of the product or sap from trees. Any alteration to the product itself and/or any on-site cutting or welding; and/or, failure to follow all maintenance requirements. When cutting immediately seal the exposed surfaces by 1 - Removing all metal shavings from the cut area, 2 - Applying zinc-rich primer to thoroughly cover cut edge and drilled hole and, after letting dry, 3 - Applying two coats of Malden colour match paint. Failure to seal exposed surfaces per steps 1-3 above will void the warranty. If non-Malden Metals parts/components are used, this will negate the warranty. If there is a warranty claim to submit it shall be sent to Malden Metals, in writing along with the original proof of purchase and shall detail what the claim is for and when it was first noticed. Also, photographs of current site conditions and fence from all side need to be submitted. Photos may be emailed to info@maldenmetals.ca. If the fence is improperly installed, Malden Metals shall not be responsible for the performance or appearance of the material. Warranty will be invalid when the failure or damage is due to improper use or application, abuse or misuse, salt spray exposure, vandalism, or acts of God. Malden Metals reserves the right to inspect the material to determine validity of the claim. Upon acceptance of the claim by Malden Metals, redemption by replacement, renewal or issuance of a pro-rated credit shall be made by Malden Metals. Reimbursement for labour necessary to restore and/or replace components is not covered under this warranty. The above constitutes the complete warranty by the manufacturer. No other agreement, written or implied terms are valid. Malden Metals does not give authorization to anyone to make any other express warranties. Malden Metals neither assumes nor authorizes any other person or agent to assume any other liability in connection with the Malden Metals fence systems.

What Kind of Maintenance Is Required Keep My Vinyl Fence Looking Good?

While DFS Vinyl Products resists the most common household stains, it will become dirty like any other product that is exposed to atmospheric conditions. If the fence becomes dirty it is important to clean it. Chalk may also accumulate on the surface. This is a normal condition for all pigmented materials which are constantly exposed to sunlight and the elements. Soil, grime, and chalk can be simply removed with the help of your garden hose and a bucket of soapy water. Always test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area before full use. Mildew may be a problem in some areas. It appears as black spots on surface dirt and is usually first detected in areas not subjected to rainfall, such as under eaves and porch enclosures. For removal, prepare a solution as shown.

Mix together:
1/3 cup detergent (tide, for example) 2/3 cup      trisodium phosphate (Soilax, for example)
1 quart 5% sodium hypochlorite (Clorox, for      example)
3 quarts of water

Wear gloves while applying solution with a sponge. Rinse off with garden hose and enjoy your clean fence!
